Clissold Court

1936

Architect: Howes and Jackman

PreviousNext
1234567

Lovely little estate of three storey 'villas' with six flats each, strung out along the north edge of Clissold Park. A shared garden shields many of the flats from the street. A front garden zone is nicely planted with anemones, lavender, roses and is bounded in with a lush hedge. Balconies are cleverly staggered on first and second floor offering a lot of privacy (and well used on a sunny afternoon in July). Original Crittall windows intact and looking as good as the day they were put in - someone has managed this place carefully. A mix of red brick/red tile and white render/green tile just to mix it up a bit. Staggered brick detail at the entries. Heart-warming.
